Community Projects

Warley MRC is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) with the aims of advancing public education and fostering a general interest in model railways, railways and allied pursuits, and in particular to encourage a high standard of modelling amongst the members of the Club.

To this end, as well as providing facilities described on other pages for members, the Club from time to time promotes demonstrations by members and others on how to construct model railway layouts.

The Club promotes or facilitates educational meetings on both model railways, the history of railways and allied transport systems.

The Club holds open days to encourage and foster an interest in model railways and allied transport systems.

The Club facilitates visits from members of the public to the Club to promote a better understanding of the hobby. It supports similar clubs and charities and events  and encourages modelling for younger individuals between the age of 12 and 16.

The Club organises educational visits for members to other organisations, preserved railways, museums and other places of interest to the modeller.

The Club reference library is open to all members and indeed to the public by prior arrangement (but subject to supervised access) and the club is always willing to consider the provision of layouts or modelling related demonstrations for community events.

The Club supports other clubs and organisations by making available its facilities.  The conditions for letting are available by clicking here.  If you wish to make use of this then please download this form, complete and return this form.

The Midland Amyloidosis Society

2020 was a hard year for many reasons, not least being the loss of members to a variety of reasons (but not COVID-19)

One of the members, Bob Hingley, succumbed to Amyloidosis and the trustees felt it would be appropriate that we offered our fund raising support to the society that supported Bob.
