Queslett (OO Gauge)

Having done sterling service for Virgin Trains, ownership of Yardlea was passed to the club after the 2004 exhibition.  Meanwhile a replacement layout was nearing completion and due to make its debut at the Glasgow 2005 show.

Unlike Yardlea this was not based on any location, but had a number of requirements;

The layout is built on 10 baseboards, each 1500mm * 900 mm, with the overall size being 6m * 3.3m.

The action is provided by having 4 running tracks on the public side, with the 2 suburban lines running at high level and served by their own fiddle yard (3 tracks in each direction).  The main line is fed by a 6 fiddle yard lines in each direction.

The small loco stabling point is on the lower level wedged between the main line and Queslett main street.

The Freightliner depot occupies 1 corner of the layout.

Queslett has undergone conversion to Digitrax DCC and will feature in our 2007 show representing "The summer of 68"
