Kirtley Works (G scale)

This layout used to be the locomotive works for the Kirtley Valley Railroad in steam days. Time has moved on to the diesel era. The workshops have gone, although the water tower remains, and factories have taken their place. The layout now represents a spur off the main line.  

This layout was kindly donated to the club by John & Pete Smith and has some small track changes to turn it into a small yard serving two factories. Facilities for passengers will also be built.

The stock used is primarily 1:29 American but European stock will also be run if desired by the operators. The factory units were constructed during 2008 and the layout was displayed at the NEC 2009 exhibition.
