Chapel End is a 20ft * 2ft layout which started life as a branch line from Queens Cross to cover the fiddle yard of that layout. Its original concept was that it could become a freestanding layout. When Queens Cross went to the scrap heap Chapel End was retained and a separate fiddle yard was built for it. With the fiddle yard on the end it is 24ft * 2ft.
The exit from the fiddle yard climbs through a tunnel before emerging into a cutting adjacent to the line to the local dairy. The branch levels out as it passes a bracket signal and small loco shed before arriving at Chapel End station. This boasts a small goods yard and access to the dairy at the other end of the layout.
Run mostly as a Great Western branch (because that's what the usual operators have stock of) although occasionally may be LNER or LMS or even BR.
